What is AI visibility score?
An AI visibility score is a number that summarizes how often AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini name a brand when they answer questions in its category.
Limelit measures Visibility on every account, including the free one; it only counts runs that produced an answer, so a window with no measured runs shows as not measured.
Definition
An AI visibility score is a number that summarizes how often AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini name a brand when they answer questions in its category. In Limelit the score is called Visibility: How often AI assistants mention this brand: the share of your tracked prompt answers (across engines) that name it. Higher is better. It is computed as (runs mentioning the brand / measured runs) x 100.

The things people ask us first.
No. Each tool picks its own prompts, engines and counting rules, so two scores are comparable only when the prompt set and engines match.
One tracked prompt answered by one engine on one day. A query for which Google showed no AI Overview is excluded, because it says nothing about the brand.
No. With zero measured runs Limelit shows the score as not measured, never as 0.0%, so an empty window is not mistaken for a brand no engine names.
Not by itself. It measures how often answers name you; clicks depend on whether the answer links to you, which the citation numbers and the GA4 referral report show separately.
